Exempt Employee Benefits

Employees in managerial and administrative positions at Weill Cornell enjoy:

  • Health Plan - two plans are available to select from and are effective the first of the month coincident with or the next month following the date of hire.
  • Dental Plan - effective the first of the month coincident with or the next month following the date of hire.
  • Flexible Benefits Plan - reimbursement accounts can be set-up for eligible health and dependent care expenses.
  • Vision Plan - coverage for employees and eligible dependents for routine eye exams and the purchase of eyeglasses and/or contact lenses at a significant discount.
  • Life Insurance Plan - employer-provided coverage and voluntary coverage.
  • Dependent Life Insurance - provides insurance coverage for employee, spouse, domestic partner and children.
  • Voluntary Accident Insurance - provides insurance coverage for an employee, spouse, domestic partner and children.
  • Long Term Disability Plan - provides income protection in the event of a long-term disability.
  • Business Travel Accident Coverage - employees traveling on Medical College business have $300,000 accidental death coverage.
  • Auto/Homeowner Insurance - paid in full by the employee via payroll deduction.
  • Retirement Plan - a generous 403(b) plan with immediate vesting whereby the employer contributes a percentage of the employee's pensionable earnings.
  • Tax Deferred Annuity Plan - another 403(b) plan that allows the employee to make voluntary, pre-tax contributions.
  • Employee Tuition Reimbursement - up to $5,000 in benefits available after 6 months of employment - available each academic year for work/career related course work.
  • Children's Tuition Scholarship Benefits -full time employees with 2 years of full time service may qualify for this scholarship benefit that will pay an eligible child's college tuition of up to $9,000 each undergraduate year for up to 4 years.
  • Long Term Care Insurance - to assist with custodial and nursing home services not covered by traditional health plans.

In addition to these great employee benefits, full time employees also can earn over 4 weeks vacation each fiscal year (a maximum of 25 vacation days after 5 years of service) and 3 personal days each anniversary year. In the event of a short term illness or disability, the Medical College also provides accrued sick pay and short term disability benefits.
