Two Arrested in Charlottesville Shooting

Charlottesville police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting along Page Street that put a teen in the hospital Saturday.

Police charged 18-year-old Calvin Maupin and 22-year-old Robert Burrell, both of Charlottesville, for their suspected involvement the shooting that occurred in the 900 block of Page Street shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, Burrell was driving with the 18-year-old victim when Burrell and Maupin exchanged gunfire. The victim was shot in the chest and taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center where he's recovering from non-life threatening injuries.

Burrell is charged with one felony count of intentionally discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle. Maupin faces two felony counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. 

Both are being held without bond at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail.
