How To Open Communication Channels And Avoid SPAM

Your [tag-tec]blog[/tag-tec] is your way to communicate to the world. Your chance to share your knowledge, your experience and thoughts or simply express your interests. But it is crucial that this communication is two way. Your visitors have to be able to provide feedback – it is actually required to provide credibility to your [tag-tec]web 20[/tag-tec] blog.

But how do you protect yourself from all the auto-posting bots and spam bots? There are so many applications looking to exploit what was provided for people’s convenience (feedback forms) that it makes our job a lot harder. But there are easy solutions …

Since [tag-tec]Wordpress[/tag-tec] is such a popular platform I have assumed that it would be very easy to find a plugin that provides some form of human verification and protects my comment form from spam. Well – there are plenty options but with my fairly extensive technical knowledge I had problem finding one that will work. After attempting to install and make work about 3 different plugins I was able to finally find one that had a great protection and was extremely easy to use.

  • Secure Form Mailer Plugin For Wordpress

This is the WordPress plugin version of my secure PHP form mailer script. This plugin has a wide range of features including: Support for multiple instances, an easy to use dynamic form generation system (any number of fields, in any order), multiple recipients, multiple file attachments, optional auto reply feature, an image verification system, numerous security features (including protection against email header injection), a message template system, multiple languages, and too many other things to list. This plugin was designed to be easy to use, while still being extremely flexible. If you just want a simple contact form, you can set one up with just a few clicks. For those of you who need something a bit more advanced, you can completely customize the plugin to fit your needs - whether it is 5 fields or 500. Click to get it

But what I like the most – it gave me options to create multiple feedback forms, each with their own configuration. I needed that option for future plans and finding it in one easily installed plugin was a welcome bonus. You can see it in action on my About / Contact me page.

While I would appreciate the feedback – please don’t use it for testing. I will not be replying to any test messages.

    TheSpot-er (Who Am I?)

I apologize for re-posting this article. After installing one plugin I had a huge issue that created multiple instances of one post and I had to disable it until problem was resolved.
