Eliot Giving Tree gift recipients sought

ELIOT, Maine — The town will bring back its Giving Tree program and is asking for applications from those in need.

The program returns for its 15th year. Residents take an ornament off the tree at an Eliot location which lists a needy child's age, sex and gift request. Residents can then drop off gifts at the same locations.

Families in need are encouraged to get an application at the Eliot Police Department or Eliot Community Services Department and return it by Nov. 30. Those who are unable to get to either location may call (207) 451-9735, ext. 10, and leave their mailing address to have an application mailed to them.

The program is limited to Eliot residents. Residents with questions should call (207) 439-1179.
