Fairhaven Corporation
Whitewater,
Wisconsin
Executive Director, Fairhaven Corporation
Fairhaven was formed in 1958. Since that time the organization has been served by only 2 Executive Directors, the first for 30 years and the second for 20 years respectively. That stability of leadership has resulted in Fairhaven’s success as a comprehensive, fiscally sound and well-managed provider of services for older adults in the area. The Executive Director is the chief executive officer of Fairhaven. As such, the primary function of the Executive Director is to direct the planning and implementation of the mission and policies developed by the Board of Directors of Fairhaven Corporation. Fairhaven employs approximately 170 full time equivalent positions with a 2008 operating budget of approximately $10 million that supports a variety of services and facilities for 285-plus older adults.
We seek a servant leader whose passion for and commitment to mission-driven, faith-based endeavors has been demonstrated by an ability to bring fresh ideas, emotional energy and exceptional interpersonal skills to a nonprofit organization. This person must have prior proven experience in leading and implementing organizational strategies while guiding the enterprise through challenging and uncertain times. The complex array of older adult services and programs provided by Fairhaven requires that the candidate demonstrate a background of astute financial management, business acumen and budget controls, ideally in the continuing care retirement community field.
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; a bachelor’s degree is required The Executive Director must be interested, enthusiastic and comfortable in building relationships within the United Church of Christ through its church congregations, Conference leadership and other agencies that are affiliated with the Council on Health and Human Service Ministries of the UCC.
