Move your web app beyond the browser with Adobe AIR and win £5k
We are running a contest in conjunction with Adobe to find out who can come up with the best idea for an Adobe AIR application! Adobe AIR enables web developers to build and deploy desktop applications using web technologies, such as HTML, AJAX, Flash and Flex.
We want to hear how you would use Adobe AIR, either to create a new application or to extend the reach of an existing web application to the desktop – simply describe what you’d build in less than 200 words and you could be in the running to win £5K to help you bring your AIR application to life!
To enter just compete the form located here and then bring your completed form to the Adobe stand at FOWA. During FOWA Adobe experts will be on hand to help you refine your entry or just to give you some insider tips and tricks for developing a winning AIR app.

What you need to know
Adobe and Carsonified will choose 3 finalists from the overall entries. Deadline for entry is 10am on Friday Oct 10. Forms need to be handed in at the Adobe FOWA stand. The final winner will be determined by a “Dragon's Den” type pitch on the main stage by the chosen 3 finalists. They'll each be asked to make a 2 minute presentation to our AIR 'dragons' and will also be asked a question by our 'dragons'. The winner will be decided by the audience's level of enthusiasm and a final decision from our dragons. The dragons decision is final.
The prizes are
1st - £5k. £2.5k on winning and £2.5k on public release of the app. Adobe will be on hand to help as you define the scope for your AIR application and will also help promote your application upon release through the Adobe AIR Marketplace adobe.com/go/marketplace
2nd - Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection
3rd - Your pick of any standalone Adobe product (Photoshop, Flex Builder, Illustrator etc ...)

Competition Rules
1. All entrants must be aged 18 years or over.
2. Judges (The Air Dragons) decision is final.
3. Competition entries will only be accepted by hand delivered to the Adobe stand at FOWA London by 10am on 10th October 2008.
4. Competition only available to attendees of FOWA London 2008.
