Happy Sunday, Pride!
I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful and restful weekend. Additionally, I hope the Super Bowl was enjoyable for you, whether your team won or you found the commercials entertaining enough to make the game worthwhile.
I have some updates to share with all of you.
24/25 School Calendar
Here is the draft for the 2024-2025 school calendar, which we plan to present at the Board meeting on February 27th. Some key points of the K-9 draft calendar include:
- A Modified Balanced Year-Round Calendar (similar to our current school calendar).
- Start date: August 1st
- End date: May 29th
- 180 school days, evenly split with 90 days before and 90 days after the Winter Break.
- In addition to traditional breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Breaks), the calendar includes two additional breaks: Fall Break and Late-Winter Break.
Our students in grades 10-12 will follow the calendar of York Technical College, which is yet to be released.
We value the input of our families and would like to hear your thoughts on the draft calendar. Please spare a few minutes to provide your feedback by taking this survey.
Ground Breaking Ceremony
This Wednesday, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new middle/high school building. Construction will begin in the area over the next two weeks. Here are some photos from the ceremony. We'll continue to provide more updates and timelines as they become available.
School Counselors Appreciation
I want to express my gratitude to our exceptional school counselors: Ms. Carr (K-5), Ms. Teague (6-9), and Ms. Menges (10-12). Their dedication to our students' academic and emotional well-being is commendable. Their expertise, compassion, and relentless effort significantly impact our students' lives daily.
That's all for now. Lions, I wish you all an outstanding week ahead.
In Strength and Blessings,
~Dr. Compton
