Cops tracking down person behind Molotov cocktail fire at Beruas MP's house


IPOH: Police here are tracking down the individual who is believed to be involved in the hurling of a Molotov cocktail into the house compound of Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said police discovered a bottle believed to be a Molotov cocktail at the scene.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code, and the case would be looked from all angles.

“Attempts to trace the individual are being carried out. The public is advised not to speculate, as this could hamper investigations," said Comm Mohd Yusri Hassan.

Those with information can contact the investigating officer ASP Mohd Azalan Ab Karim at 019-3927837 to assist in the investigations,” he added in a statement.

Comm Mohd Yusri Hassan said the Manjung district police headquarters had received a call from Ngeh about the fire that had damaged his three cars.
