DAVID LIVINGSTON DAVIES

April 12, 1951-March 18, 2008

David Livingston Davies, a self-employed entrepreneur of Mount Laurel, NJ, died of a massive heart attack on March 18 at the age of 56 while on a business trip to Qatar.

He is survived by his wife, Antonia D. Davies; his children, Kyle, Kehley, and

Melissa, and their mother, Anne Davies. He is also survived by his mother and

stepfather, Helen and Caleb Hathaway of Silver Spring, Maryland and his siblings, Ronald Davies, Malcolm Cosgrove-Davies, and Emily Balke.

Mr. Davies, an Eagle Scout, grew up in Moorestown, New Jersey and Rockville, Maryland. He was born April 12, 1951 in Camden, NJ. He was a graduate of Cornell University, and earned degrees in electrical engineering at the University of Tennessee, in artificial intelligence at Yale University, and in law at

Boston College. Mr. Davies spent time in South America in the Peace Corps; developed and ran CADKEY, a three

dimensional computer aided design software company, as well as several other businesses during his life. He published many technical papers and filed many patents. His recent work was with the Department of Defense on Homeland Security. He was active in the Society of Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Mr. Davies loved spending time with his family and being outdoors, most especially on the water in a kayak, sailboat, or in the rowboat he built. He enjoyed working with wood alongside his children, and taught them about the world through numerous stories of his ventures. We will all miss him.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mark Presbyterian Church, 10701 Old Georgetown Rd., Rockville, MD 20852 on Saturday, April 5 at 2 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen
