Tips and Tricks to Feeling Wealthy Even When You’re Not

You may not have a thick wallet full of cash to do whatever you feel like but you can fake it til you make it. Regardless of how much money you make, you’ll feel a whole lot wealthier when you have some cash stowed away. Find people that will buy the luxuries you can’t afford, save your money through various means and stay fabulous. The feeling you get from doing fabulous things will get you in gear for your own wealth, it’s a modern law.

  1. Have One Martini at the “Spot”. As part of the strategy to make you feel wealthier than you are, go out to the spot where all the rich people hang out. You may spark up a conversation and the next thing you know, you’re invited to a party on their yacht.
  2. Ghetto Diva Nights In. Invite your “real” friends over and get them to bring food and drink with them. Never let your rich friends know of these gatherings and never invite them. Ever.
  3. Coupons and sales are Your Friends. For events you want to go to in order to meet your new wealthy acquaintances, you can maximize your bucks by finding online coupons and shopping from Boxing day sales events.
  4. Surround yourself with the Right People. You may not be wealthy so get yourself some rich friends. They can cover the bill of costly appies and top shelf beverages.
  5. Buy Cheap Sexy Shoes. It’s better to have a whole bunch of cheap, trendy sexy shoes than to have one nice pair. If your soles are killing you, you can stuff insoles into your cheap shoes. The purpose here is to really get yourself a guy with more money than you. It’s about resourcing here.
  6. Get a Personality. You need to be that person at a party who’d indispensable. Funny, charismatic and all the things to distract people from the fact you’re a total leach.
  7. Be Conscious of Your Office Perks. If your job isn’t going to pay you well, it’s ideal to work in a place that has leftover deli food after meetings. Free coffee too.
  8. Do yoga at Home. Seriously, yoga memberships are a major expense and it’s pretty unlikely you’ll find a wealthy guy to buy your drinks there.
  9. Look Your Best Always. Have lots of trendy outfits that aren’t pricey.
  10. Wear high heels everywhere.
  11. Don’t chintz out on makeup. This is an investment and your ticket to other people’s wealth.
  12. Invest in the best hair products money can buy.
  13. Make friends with a good hairstylist. She will care more about your hair plus she can get you discounts on good hair products.
  14. Seriously, put 20% of your cash flow away and focus on someone else paying for your luxuries.
  15. Date many men at once and be allusive, you get more out of them that way.
  16. Be happy in public always. You attract people that way and get what you want.
  17. Be a coat check girl for an exclusive club. You’ll have access to wealthy people plus they’ll tip you big.
  18. If you don’t have a good job, have many jobs. Get all the benefits in a few different places like 3 Christmas parties with open bars.
  19. Never use public transit. Make sure you live within walking distance of all major amenities. You’ll save money and also having to carry all of your things all the time. This will give you killer legs. Cut that gym membership out of the budget!
  20. Never admit to not being able to afford to do something, instead make up an elaborate excuse as to why you are too busy and take a rain check.
  21. No meat! That’s an overly simplified way of saying each cheap. Meat is expensive, don’t buy it. Just pretend that it’s some fashion diet.

ALDI Treadmill – How to get hold of one?

ALDI's hard to get treadmill
ALDI’s hard to get treadmill
Every few months, ALDI lists a really cheap treadmill in their weekly specials and I have tried to get hold of one at-least three or four times in last couple of year with no success.

This year I came very close though as apparently I was the 7th person in the line but there were only 5 machines available at my local ALDI.

Has anyone been able to get hold of these treadmills? I will be very interested to hear a review and learn what did I really miss by not being able to grab this bargain.

Vistaprint Promo Codes – How to find them?

Vistaprint is one of the pioneers in releasing coupon codes in Australia. Most of these coupons are available on their website with some even advertised on their home page. However, they do come up with some crazy offers everyone now and then (example: this 25% off entire store vistaprint promo code advertised on a coupon site) and you can also save more with these better coupons out there.

Here are some of the tips for finding the best Vistaprint coupon: (Note: Feel fee to add coupons in the comVistaprint couponsments below)

  1. Firstly, check out Vistaprint Facebook page. I have seen many coupons advertised on their Facebook page. And the same goes for their twitter page (though it’s not as active as Facebook page).
  2. Check out coupon sites like TopBargains and OzBargain. If it’s not on these two sites, it simply doesn’t exist.
  3. You also ant to checkout Whirlpool forum for an occasional thread on Vistaprint coupons.
  4. If you work in a large company, ask your IT department if they receive any company codes from Vistaprint. Most large companies receive coupon offers from Vistaprint and such offers are exclusive to the employees of that company. Working for large companies does come with some perks after all.
  5. If everything else fails, you can always send them a Facebook message and politely ask for a coupon. I am very certain that they won’t refuse you since couponing is a big part of their marketing strategy and they love to hand out coupons.

So what are the typical coupon offers from Vistaprint?

Vistaprint’s most popular offer is free business cards. This can also be combined with a ‘free delivery’ if you order something else. By combining the coupons together, you are looking at getting 500 business cards with a business card holder (both delivered for $9.95). I have also seen a crazy coupon offer where you could get 500 business cards delivered absolutely free. Remember that Vistaprint makes their margins from people choosing upgrades (like better paper and rushed delivery) but if you skip through these offers, you will always get a great deal. Apart from business cards, they do offer coupons on almost everything in the store.

One last tip – don’t pay extra for express post

During the checkout, you will be presented with the option to upgrade to express shipping option (for an extra $5 or so depending on the contents of your order). Now the funny bit is that whether or not you choose this option, you will get express shipping. Vistaprint has a bulk deal with Australia Post and their orders get delivered super fast whether or not you have paid for the upgrade.

Hope you enjoyed this post and don’t forget to leave any vistaprint coupons/tips in the comments section.

My Favourite Australian Online Shop Is Asos

All About Eve from Asos
All About Eve from Asos

It is hard not to fall in love with Asos. Apparently, Asos now sells more fashion clothing to Australians than any other stores and yet it is a UK bases online chain. I love to buy Australian but for those great prices and 3 day delivery to Sydney, I am happy to pretend that Asos is an Australian store.

I am not alone in this love affair – it’s actually hard to find someone who hasn’t ordered from Asos lately. You get free delivery to Australia for orders over $30 and they deliver super-fast (usually within 2-3 days). This is a far superior value compared to David Jones and Myers which seem to be stuck in old ways. It’s hard to believe that Asos can deliver from UK within 2-3 days, provide you free shipping and still maintain prices that are a third of what Myers and David Jones like to charge us.

If you are new to Asos, you first have to know the difference between Asos own brands and other fashion label brands they carry. Asos has a wide range of own brands and they are comparable in quality with all the big names. These brands are where you save loads of money and I am talking about $10 dresses (better in quality than $100 ones at Myer), $20 pairs of jeans, $15 shoes and other crazy prices like this.

It’s important to look for Asos sales but they keep coming throughout the year. You just have keep checking their website or Facebook or some of the deal sites that publish Asos updates.
