Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have created self-portraits by hitting paint-covered tennis balls against a canvas to mark their qualification for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

The world number one and three have secured their places at the annual end of season tournament, which will be held at London's O2 Arena from 21 to 28 November, with six more slots still up for grabs.

The artwork created by all the qualifying players will be exhibited in London and then at the tournament's Fan Zone before being auctioned for charity.

And newly-crowned US Open champion Nadal is looking forward to a return to the UK, where he clinched a second Wimbledon title this summer.

He said: "Making the artwork was fun and something I've never done before. It's a great way to celebrate the World Tour Finals coming back to London.

"Last year the crowd and the stadium were amazing although I didn't play my best tennis.

"Hopefully this year I will arrive playing well again and will try to do my best in front of the London fans who add such a special feeling to the event."
