Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham has the distinction of an unbroken line of
70 Acharyas till now. The Acharyas have taken measures for the
protection of Veda Dharma, for propagating the Advaita discipline, and

-May I advise you of the recent loss of standing of Sringeri Matha.
As I have maintained at this n.g. for very nearly 2 years now.
The original Mathas established by Sri Adi Shankar were:
Kanchi in the South-(of which Sringeri is a branch Matha)
- Dwarika in the North
- Puri in the east
- Jyosimath/Badrinarth in the north

In a recent Dharm Sansad held in honor of the Birthday of
Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopananda, with Indian Congress President
Sonia Gandhi in attendance, all four Mathas were represented.
However, there were only three Jagadguru Shankaracharya in attendance.

How is it that all four Mathas were represented and yet there were
only three respected Spiritual leaders?:
Nischalanand Saraswati of Puri,
Swami Swaroopanand of Dwarka and
Vijayendra Saraswati of Kanchi

There was no mention of the Sringeri Matha (as this Matha is a branch
Of Kanchi Peth and represented by Vijayendra Saraswati)
And, regarding Jyosimath/Badrinarth (this Matha was represented by
Swami Swaroopanand of Dwarka).

No reference to: Sringeri Matha, nor Swami VasuDevananda is made in
any recent events such as the Dharm Sansad. As numerous recent court
rulings have cited Swami Vasudevananda's claim at Jyosimath as
invalid.

And yet you insist on maintaining your completely ignorant claims on
this topic. (Incidentally, I have discredited all of your posts
regarding this subject matter and the True Teachings of Sri Adi
Shankar).

District judge rejects Swami's plea

ALLAHABAD: District judge Jagmohan Paliwal dismissed the revision
application of Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati, and upheld the order
of February 13 passed by civil judge (junior division) west,
Allahabad.

The civil Judge, on February 13 this year had dismissed the two
applications of Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati, whereby he had
prayed that contempt proceedings pending against him be rejected
in light of the High Court Order.

Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati
has filed a suit, seeking relief that Swami Vasudevanand
Saraswati be restrained by the court from proclaiming himself Jagat
Guru
Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath Badrikashram Himalaya.
The Additional Civil Judge (Second), Allahabad on February 22,
1999 had passed a temporary injunction, restraining Swami
Vasudevanand,
not to proclaim himself as Jagat Guru Shankaracharya of Jyotishpeeth
Badrikashram Himalaya and work accordingly.

Mr. Perino - There were no valid Shankaracharyas at the meeting with Sonia
because the Shankaracharya of Sringeri and the Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath
were not in attendance. Sonia Gandhi is an Italian Catholic, not a
Shankaracharya.

ALLAHABAD: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad shall hold its dharmacharya sammelan at
the ashram of Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Vasudevanand ji Maharaj on
August 24 at Alopibagh where the seers are to decide upon the final date of
Ram temple construction date at Ayodhya.

Senior VHP activist Triveni Mishra said the Sri Ram Janambhoomi Nyas has
completed preparations for temple construction and final decisons to this
effect will be taken at the sammelan.

The dharmacharya sammelan was held on Monday, August 20, 2001.

Hindu religious leaders today lambasted the BJP for putting off the Ayodhya
issue till 2004, stating that success of the Ram Temple movement did not
depend on any political party.

Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Swami Purushottamacharya, a senior member of the
Ram Janmabhoomi Trust, said in Ayodhya that the issue might not be important
for the BJP but was a matter of self-respect and faith for devotees of lord
Rama.

He also lambasted BJP president K. Jana Krishnamurty for making a statement
"against the VHP". Mr Krishnamurty had yesterday said if the VHP did not
accept the court verdict, legal action would follow. The Jagadguru said the
BJP should introspect its stand on the Ayodhya issue to resolve the matter.

Baba Dharmadas, another member of the trust and the Mahant of Hanumangadhi
at Ayodhya, said the movement was a religious and cultural issue, supported
by overwhelming Hindus.

"The statement of the BJP president is condemnable," he added.

VHP media in charge Sharad Sharma said, “Devotees would start the
construction of the temple after March 12 in accordance with the decision of
saints (top religious leaders). "He lamented that the issue was pending
before the court for long. "The government should return the encroached land
to Hindus. Only then can the issue be resolved" he claimed.

According to a report from Kanpur, VHP Awadh province executive president
Ramnath Mahendra condemned the statement of Mr Krishnamurty. He said the VHP
was prepared to face any eventuality for its "sacred cause," but warned the
BJP that its new stand on the issue would invite the people’s wrath.

In Allahabad, Jyotishpeethadishwar Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami
Basudevanand Saraswati said the Ayodhya issue should not be politicised as
it was a matter of faith for the entire Hindu community.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a medicare camp at Magh Mela, the
swami hoped that the temple would surely be built at Ayodhya. UNI
