About this event

The RAU is looking to develop a sustainable, carbon neutral, Innovation Village on a 29-acre site at the University's Cirencester campus.

The proposed £100m development will be home to a community of entrepreneurs, policymakers, practitioners, and researchers committed to addressing the major global challenges we all face.

The Innovation Village, which will comprise a number of integrated areas including a Research and Innovation centre, live/work residential units, business start-up and support spaces, as well as business and conferencing hospitality facilities, is central to the RAU’s vision.

It aims to support industry, food producers, farmers, and landowners in developing sustainable solutions for healthy land and nature, food production, and resilience in rural communities.

The RAU is committed to ensuring that the Innovation Village will push the boundaries of sustainable design to ensure a development that is beautiful, carbon neutral, rich in nature, and inspires innovation through its environment.

Please join us at the RAU's Alliston Centre on Tuesday 27 June 2023 for a short 20 minute presentation about the concept followed by plenty of time to ask any questions you may have.

We will be holding two sessions - a breakfast/before work session, which will run from 08.00 until 09.30, and an evening/after work session which will run from 18.00 to 19.30.

Refreshments will be available at both sessions.

Both sessions will have the same details and the same format so please only book to attend one session.

There is limited disabled parking available at the venue but we ask that other drivers park at the RAU's Stroud Road car park (GL7 6JS) and follow the footpath, which will be clearly signposted, the short distance to the Alliston Centre.

For those without transport, or anyone who does not wish to drive, the RAU shuttle bus will be available to transport people from Cirencester town centre to and from the venue.

The shuttle bus will leave the bus stop at Bingham House (at the bottom of Cirencester Market Place) at 07.30 on Tuesday 27 June for the breakfast session, and at 17.30 for the evening session, and will drop passengers back to the same point at the end of the event.

When you apply for your free ticket to either the breakfast or evening session, you will have an option to also reserve a ticket for the bus but, in order that we know numbers, anyone requiring a seat on the bus will need to reserve this by Friday 23 June.

If you are booking a seat/seats on the shuttle bus, please make sure you book for the corresponding session to your tickets.
