PRESSRELEASE FRÅN POLARMUSIC INTERNATIONAL AB

ABBA NEWS
The success of ABBA's latest LP "Super Trouper" has been enormous. The
sales in England are now exceeding 1.7 million copies - it stayed at no.
1 for 8 consecutive weeks, in Germany over 800,000 copies, in Sweden
360,000 copies, in France and Belgium 450,000 copies, in Japan 180,000
copies, in Canada 400,000 copies - which is four times platinum - and in
the U.S. over 550,000 copies. It is now climbing the charts very
quickly in the U.S. - this week at no. 20 in Billboard, no. 22 in
Cashbox and no. 27 in Record World - all with bullets. The LP has also
reached quadro-platinum in Argentina, double platinum in New Zealand,
platinum in Australia - it is currently roaring up the Australian charts
- etc etc. It has been no. 1 on most charts in Europe and is still high
in many countries.

The single "Super Trouper" has also been a tremendous success. The
sales in England alone are close to 1 million copies, the sales in
Germany close to 450,000 copies, and it has topped all the European
charts for many weeks. The single release in Australia and Japan has
been "On And On And On", and this has also been a great single hit for
ABBA in these countries.
The current single in the U.S. is "The Winner Takes It All" and is
moving up the charts very nicely - this week at no. 16 in Billboard, no.
21 in Cashbox and no. 31 in Record World - al with bullets. On the
Billboard Adult Contemporary charts , this single is right now no. 1.

Apart from the U.S. and Canada, there will not be any more single
releases from this L.P. Björn and Benny will now start writing again,
and there will hopefully be a brand new single out end of March or
beginning of April.

ABBA are also planning to record a TV-special in Stockholm in April.
This special will be kind of an ABBA-10-Years-Special. It is now ten
years since Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid performed together for
the first time. We are right now negotiating with a well-known American
artist to be the interviewer in this programme. There will be live
material as well as filmed numbers mixed with older material.

There is already now a 30 minutes documentary available of ABBA
consisting of some of our latest promo films together with interviews
with all four members. This documentary (all in English) is available
on 2" video tape or video cassette from us.

ABBA's Spanish single "Andante, Andante" c/w "Felicidad" (Spanish
version of "Happy New Year") is now being released in most Spanish
speaking territories, and the initial reaction is very promising. These
two tracks in Spanish are also included on the LP "Super Trouper" when
released in Spanish speaking territories.

ABBA have just returned from a short trip to New York, where they have
been watching what is happening as far as musicals, concerts etc are
concerned in the U.S. Back in Stockholm, it is time to start writing
and producing again. So it seems there will not be time for Björn to go
on any honey-moon yet. He and his newley wedded wife Lena will have to
wait!
