I am sorry for the delayed response to your comments and questions George.

I have asked the Assistant County Manager if she would like to have the
library director come into this blog to comment on the questions you have
asked. If not I have asked that she allow him to supply the information to
me and I will re-post on the blog so all can see the response. I am not
sure that I will have an answer today as she had a family emergency she was
called out of the office for.

Concerning the Firefighters, I think you would have to ask them if they are
happy or not? Like most employees anywhere I think as budget discussions
come about for the year there is some fear among them. As it relates to the
firefighters, I am sure it is an uneasy feeling for them to be mentioned
once again this year in the list of proposed cuts. Just as the residence
have fears when they hear that a station maybe closed in their area the
firefighters I am sure feel the same. Once again I would like to say that
the options that were given to the BOCC for potential closing of stations
were Pine Grove and Holopaw. The Harmony station would see an increase in
coverage area handling the Holopaw area and the Eastern side of the Pine
Grove area, while the City of St. Cloud would handle on a per call bases the
Western portion of the area serviced by the Pine Grove station. Again I
would like to say that as decisions have been made the county manager does
not feel that the BOCC will have to take any action to get through this
budget cycle as it concerns closing fire stations.

It is an honor to be your elected official and I welcome your further
comments and questions. God Bless

If I understand you, I think that this is cause for celebration in
Harmony. The Harmony fire station will not be closing anytime soon!
This is great news Fred!

Adam Seithel is the current President of the Osceola County
Professional Firefighters Local #3284 (see
http://groups.google.com/group/harmonyfl/msg/18e720fb045f74f3 and
http://groups.google.com/group/harmonyfl/msg/4e75fc87679f52a2 ). Todd
Smith is the former president of local #3282 (see
http://groups.google.com/group/harmonyfl/msg/774b91feb1bae772 ).

If either Adam or Todd would care to comment about the current Harmony
Fire Station status and their level of satisfaction with it, that
would be greatly appreciated. This might help to give Harmony
residents a greater sense of confidence that all is well with our fire
station and we have nothing else to fear in this regard, or at least
for the foreseeable future.

If the library director could join us and answer questions directly,
that would be terrific!

Thank you as always Fred.
