Manga Shakespeare Graphic Story Competition results announced

Last month we ran the Manga Shakespeare Graphic Story Competition in collaboration with SelfMadeHero, The Star’s OtakuZone, and Kinokuniya Bookshop.

And we’re happy to announce the winner is Remy "Eisu" Mokhtar! Check out Remy’s rendition of Shakespeare’s Macbeth: The Three Witches here.

Runner up is an entry by Irma S. Ahmed (Aimo) with her version of Macbeth: The Three Witches.

The panel of judges included Emma Hayley (Director, SelfMadeHero), Elizabeth Tai (Star Two, The Star Newspaper) and Chin Sau Lim (Comics Editor, Gempakstarz)

The work we saw was of such high standards that we have to give a special mention to 3 more submissions:

  • Nur Hanie Mohamed: A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Bottom’s Transformation
  • Nikki Liaw: A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Bottom’s Transformation
  • Choong Jay Vee & Adele San Ee-Shan: Macbeth: The Three Witches.

You can view their entries here and read The Star article on the winner.

Congratulations to the winners and well done to all who submitted their entries.  Thank you also to our partners SelfMadeHero, The Star and Kinokuniya Bookshop for their support.
