Wood River Rideshare will receive four substantial a grants from the Idaho Department of Transportation for the successful two-year old program known as Safe Routes to School.
The organization will receive $21,900 to continue education efforts. The City of Hailey will receive $90.595 to add sidewalks on Elm Street, next to the school. The City of Bellevue will receive $98,874 to create a separated pathway leading to and from the Bellevue Elementary School, as well as crosswalk and sign improvements. The city of Ketchum will receive $104,360 to fill in missing sidewalk sections for Hemingway Elementary School, as well as to improve school zone signs, and install a flashing crosswalk sign on Warm Springs Rd.
All the projects will begin construction in early August and must be completed by Aug. 2008.
