SIMON Davey, who quit as Darlington boss last week, has been appointed boss of Hereford United.
After a 77-day reign at The Northern Echo Darlington Arena, Davey resigned from his post after starting a rebuilding job at the club ahead of next season's assault on the Blue Square Bet Premier League.
Instead, he will be managing in the Football League with his new club.
He claimed to have resigned for personal reasons, and cited a job offer coaching in America.
After signing a two-year deal at Edgar Street, Davey said: "I think the next few seasons are going to be very exciting. It's a fresh start - a chance for a new beginning.''
