A FORMER building contractor who turned to painting when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease has won a grant to pass on his skills to others.
Robert Taylor, of Ellison Road, Sidcup, has been given a Create It Millennium award from the Parkinson's Disease Society to fund a 10-week project in Bexley.
Mr Taylor, 49, was diagnosed with the disease, which affects the nervous system and causes tremors, five years ago.
He had been painting as a hobby and decided to turn to watercolours as an alternative way of earning a living.
The project, to be held in the Hurst Community Centre in Hurst Road, Bexley, is aimed at younger people who have developed the disease, and their carers.
The project will be launched at the end of January and sessions will be free.
