Well, it only took 6 months, but my unit got approval from all levels to sell CAP plate toppers as a fundraiser. We will be ordering the first batch shortly and should receive them in late April, at which time the unit website will contain details on how to order them. These are only for CAP members.

The plates are only for use on personal vehicles, not corporate vehicles.

We are also selling the "CAP Supporter" stickers, which should be out sooner. Anyone can order these, not just CAP members.

Please do not use these designs for your own fundraising or manufacture. The permission to use the designs from National include a caveat that only my unit may order them. Thank you.

Even though I have a  right now, I'd consider getting one for my other vehicle.

Where would the holes be though?  It looks like they'd punch right through the USAF Auxiliary text.

As I understand it, the holes would actually be in the area beneath the blue, so the screw head would possibly cover the edge of the blue disk.

Colorado does not have a CAP plate and, due to the 100+ different plate styles already in use, I do not want to try to get one.

You can charge a lot for them too... look what this one went for on ebay.  ;)

We're looking at $10.00 each plus shipping. If we can get them before the COWG conf, they'll just be $10 each at the conf- until we run out.

plate toppers... where do they go? I mean... they can't cover your current license plate so I don't see any feasibility of putting a 2nd plate anywhere on my POV unlike semi trucks where I have seen dual plates on the bumpers and on the trailer doors.

If Oregon would allow DMV/State issued plates like Wisconsin does then I would not have a need for it...

I would buy one, along with CAP supporter stickers as well :)

They are mounted either above or below the license plate using the same screws.

I will just mount them in my window... its impossible to do the above ^ there is no way to mount them below the plate.. my plate is on my tailgate as I have a RAV4 good luck with that, cuz it won't fit and it will scratch it. Putting it above... well thats kinda pointless as it will not fit under the dim plate light.

If you put it in your window fine, but then it defeats the point I'm trying to make... not every vehicle has this ability. If this were an actual legal license plate replacement then this would be moot but it isn't.

Most often, I've seen them on the front license plate, not the rear. That's where I have my Haz Mat Team topper.

would be kinda cool to have one on the rear though, how many plate toppers can you feasibly put :D?

The stickers are available. PM me for details. We are going to be selling the plates using PayPal for online ordering. We have a few hurdles to juimp trough on that. Paypal wants to sign a contract, which means the wing commander has to get more involved. He has approved the original set-up already.

Are you going to take the "US" out of the sticker?

No. The US is part of the original design, not a change made HWSRN. The design (with the US) has been approved by NHQ.

The "US" was added to the CAP shoulder patch in 1942, so that it was obvious that CAP was acting as part of the US government and were thus protected by the rules of war.

Didn't they just say they were getting rid of the "US".  Anyone remember reading it in some board minutes recently?  Or am I losing my mind??

I missed that the first time I read through the post.  I am surprised NHQ is letting you go to a manufacturer, without giving them some of the profits.

However, your work does open up precedent for other manufacturers to begin making CAP specific items again, as long as they are being produced for a units fundraising!

Thank you.  NHQ legal.....your mistake!  Can't have "only one supplier" both ways.  You either have everything supplied and produced or you begin outsourcing.  We have seen the start of the outsourcing!  WOO-HOOOO!!!

Just goes to show what nreading the regs can lead to...
