Whoops, Gee...Looks like I pissed off MrMannn.
He claims I don't support free speech, yet he doesn't see fit to publish my comment, or to furnish a link over here. Though he at least mentions the site.

Care to back that statement up since you're the one doing the censoring on your blog?
Typical religious reich...whine about how the "liberals" are against things like free speech, yet in the same breath (or blog post, as the case may be) show how hypocritical you are by doing the very actions that you accuse "the libs" of doing.

Mannn, we post almost anything here...who do you think really supports free speech? Take a look at your Rapture Ready site for instance. It's pretty easy to get banned there if you don't toe the party line.
You all remember what I said to him...where in my asking him to defend his quotemining over here, or in my original post, did anyone get the impression that I was against free speech?
Remember: In the original video Frank had said that one of the good things about his gov't system was that people like that woman DO have freedom of speech, yet he's not under any obligation to talk with such a wackjob as her.
His twitter status says that he deals with a liberal on a "Barney Frank love thread"?
The fuck? We just agree with the guy's actions in dealing with some stupid loon who, like Mr. Mann, compares Obama's health care reform to the fuckin' Nazis!
 I have no idea really how good or bad it'll be, as I've said before, but shit...I'm pretty sure it doesn't involve gas chambers.
Let the brave MrMannn come over here and try to justify his brainless statements since that great supporter of free speech won't allow dissenting comments on his blog.

Ah well, Ig. It's the same as it ever was. Hypocrites like Mannn are a dime a dozen. He's a common armchair blowhard who will not dare to subject his claims to any opposing scrutiny, while all the time whining about how "liberals" want to shut him up, with no evidence to support that claim, as you have demonstrated. He's just another chicken shit blowhard with nothing real to offer but his droppings. Whatever his politics are, he has shown what he is made of. The internet if filled with cowardly blogger's.
It's good that you invited him over here though. Maybe one day one of those people (an honest one) will be secure enough in their beliefs to take on a real challenge. |

Well, I tried again...glutton for punishment that I am.
You know, I was an atheist for a long time, but I never developed the outright contempt for believers that I have now until I started to talk with them on their forums...

No you don't...otherwise you'd have published mine.
Instead, you prevent my comment from being shown, then accuse <b>me</b> of trying to stifle the views of those I disagree with.
Howsabout you post my original comment, and let your readers decide if my asking you to come over to our forums to defend your views counts as being "not worthy of free speech" or stifling dissent?
By banning my comment and then outright lying about what I've said, you show yourself to be both a liar and hypocritical when it comes to free speech.

Well, here's his latest excuse, though at least he unintentionally showed that I am not against free speech after all...
I keep getting comments demanding that I debate with them. Debate is NOT the reason I started this blog. My Blog is a series of essays about truth, and I will not debate truth. Blogs are free, Nothing prevents you from opening your own blog, linking to mine and debating in that form. I may or may not acknowledge your blog, but thats the net.
I don't care how much you whine. Deal with it. |

The video at this post shows how Senator Al Franken handled a group of teabaggers. Franken was able to calm them down and feed them some sweet reason. Even if he didn't change many of their minds, he may have neutralized some of their fears and loudness. Bear in mind, this was a different group of protesters than that which Congressman Barney Frank faced, and the two men have different speaking skills and styles as well.
Franken shows a great deal of knowledge and patience, though his comedic skills don't show through at all.

As far as I can discover, the Nazis had no government-run or -regulated universal health care system for their citizens.
(The Nazis did have the usual medical care for serving members of their military, and they enacted standards for public health in water and product quality. Some of these regulations, like their autobahns, were actually world-class.)
So much for being able to compare Obama's evolving health care system to the Nazis. It would be like comparing apples to an empty fruit basket.

It's not actually the care they're worried about, it's the cost-savings. Congresspeople were saying "we have to reduce the cost of Medicare," and the reactionaries are assuming that the only way to do that is by limiting care. See an earlier post for the LaRouche angle:They say we need to limit Medicare expenditures in order to reduce the deficit. That's the origin of this policy. This is the T4 policy, the Hitler policy in 1939, when he said certain lives are not worth living; certain people, we should not spend the money to keep them alive. |

But what Obama proposed is what we're living through in Massachusetts. And it's, at best, a modest improvement--it's more 'chang-iness' than significant change.
Having a limited public option that only applies to the most desperate (most people won't be able to join if they wanted to) screws over lower-middle class and middle class. |
One commentator notes:
More people are covered than before in the Mass. system - that is progress.
The current Mass. system is better than before (IMHO) and the proposed Obama system will be better than the status quo.
They are not going to get it perfect (or even get it right) the first time, but it is time to change the current non-working system.
Who knows the RepubliCANTS might even contribute a thought eventually. |
