Description

The ore geology community has been hosting International Platinum Symposia since 1971, the first being held in Melbourne, Australia, and then approximately every four years at different venues around the world. In between the Platinum Symposia, there are the International Nickel Symposia, the last being staged in 2016 in Perth, Australia. The International Platinum Symposium has never been hosted in the UK. With some of the world’s largest resource companies based in the UK, and ore deposits hosted in mafic-ultramafic rocks becoming increasingly "critical" to facilitate the green energy transition, now is a good time to invite academic and industry researchers and practitioners interested in magmatic ore deposits to Wales to attend the 14th International Platinum Symposium.
