Several Wooster hog farmers are facing criminal charges after alleged abuse was caught on a hidden camera.

The case drew national attention after the undercover video was posted on You Tube.

It is a slaughterhouse, but animal rights advocates say this is not how to run one.

"This is not about raising animals. It's about abusing and torturing animals," said Brad Miller with the Humane Farming Association.

The Humane Farming Association pushed for an investigation, and with the hidden video, convinced the prosecutor to bring charges.

"I don't see a lot of disturbing things like this, but I will be presenting it to a jury," said Prosecutor Frank Forchione.

Prosecutors said the evidence shows the hogs were left to starve to death, others were hanged and still others were grabbed by their ears and thrown, breaking their legs.

Ken Wiles, the owner of Wiles Hog Farm, his son Joe and employee Dusty Stroud face a total of ten counts involving animal cruelty.

All three pleaded not guilty and their attorney said they'll wait for their day in court before commenting.

A trial date hasn't been set.

If convicted of all counts, the men face up to six months in prison. All of the charges are misdemeanors.
