The latest member of Verizon Wireless' DROID family of handsets, the DROID X by Motorola, has just hit the shelves, being able to offer an enhanced experience to all those who will choose it over other mobile phones available for purchase on the US market. One of the features it comes packed with is two-way synchronization with a PC, which is available courtesy of CompanionLink Software, Inc., a leading provider of mobile sync solutions for Google Android devices.

According to the company, its solution for the DROID X by Motorola comes with the option to easily sync contacts, calendar, tasks and notes between the handset and desktop PC software solutions. Among the apps and services it comes with support for, we can count Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Business Contact Manager, IBM Lotus Notes, Novell GroupWise, Palm Desktop, and ACT! by Sage. The company also notes that CompanionLink can sync with DROID X in two ways, including direct USB sync and wireless sync using Google.

When it comes to direct USB sync with DROID X, the company notes that another Android app, called DejaOffice, is also included into the mix. The software solution offers contact-manager-like address book, calendar, tasks and notes apps. CompanionLink would transfer data between PC and DejaOffice via the USB cable that comes with DROID X.

As for wireless sync through Google, the move is possible via the built-in integration with Google Contacts and Google Calendar the new DROID X by Motorola comes to the market with. CompanionLink was designed to synchronize PC contacts, calendar and tasks to Google, which would perform over-the-air syncing with the DROID X. At the same time, any change made on the device would then be synced with Google, and then to the PC.

“While the DROID X is a powerful phone, it lacks an easy way to sync data to the PC for people not running Microsoft Exchange,” says Rushang Shah, Director of Marketing for CompanionLink Software, Inc. “With CompanionLink, the DROID X becomes an extension of their PC, allowing professionals to carry their data in the palm of their hand.” CompanionLink’s sync apps for Google's Android operating system are available for purchase for a one-time cost starting at $39.95.
