Toxic Energy Mind and Emotions Facts, Information, Resources
Toxic Energy Mind quote: "Suffering is always the effect of wrong thought in some direction. It is an indication that the individual is out of harmony with himself, with the law of his being... The circumstances which a man encounters with suffering are the result of his own mental inharmony. The circumstances which a man encounters with blessedness are the result of his own mental harmony." James Allen in As a Man Thinketh
TOXIC ENERGY MINDSince I am (more or less) sticking with the body, mind, spirit model of being, I address, on this page, the toxic energy aspects of mental and emotional issues. So, I see the toxic energy mind consisting of negative emotional and mental components. On the homepage, I mentioned that both
physical (body) factors
and
psychic (spirit) factors
could "add" toxins to a person's energy body. You can find those by using the links in the previous sentence, or the buttons (to the left). Scroll down to find out more about the toxic energy mind.
Body, mind, spirit interaction
Our "being" is a single entity, made up of the the three interacting components: body, mind, spirit. It is my belief that all humans have toxic components, and therefore, their essence is dis-ease, suffering, overwhelming shadows... but there are ways through the "slough of despond"...First, let's consider how the toxic energy mind gets that way, then how this toxic energy is stored, then released.
Toxic energy mind: sources
Toxic energy mind: storage & release
I find that two "views" of the storage (and release) of a toxic energy mind make sense to me:- A biological source
- An ancient metaphorical source (Chakra model),
Toxic Energy Mind: Biological Model
There are two women scientists who, to my mind, have made the most scientific sense for the mind-emotions-body connection. They are- Candace Pert, author of
MOLECULES OF EMOTION
Pert has shown that emotions are stored at a cellular level... within the body - Elnora (Ellie) van Winkel, creator of REDIRECTING SELF THERAPY. She was able to show that emotional outbursts originated from the release of toxins from the nervous system.
Candace Pert's toxic energy mind findings...
"There is a revolution taking form that is significantly influencing how the Western medical community views health and disease. Candace Pert's contribution to this revolution is undeniable, and her professional integrity in the pursuit of scientific truth, where ever it had to take her, regardless of its personal or professional cost, underscores the feminine potential of science at its best." ~Deepak Chopra in foreword to Candace Pert's book, Molecules of Emotion.Candace Pert, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist whose extraordinary career began with her 1972 discovery of the opiate receptor. She speaks to mixed audiences of mainstream professionals, alternative practitioners and seekers of wholeness about the exciting world of biomedicine, molecular theory, and psychoneuroimmunology. In her groundbreaking book Molecules of Emotion: The Science Behind Mind-Body Medicine, Pert provides startling and decisive answers to the challenging questions that scientists and philosophers have pondered for centuries. By establishing the biomolecular basis for our emotions and explaining these new scientific developments in a clear and accessible way, Pert empowers us to understand ourselves, our feelings, and the connection between our minds and our bodies-or bodyminds-in ways we could never possibly have imagined before. From explaining how there is a scientific basis to popular wisdom about phenomena such as "gut feelings" to making comprehensible recent breakthroughs in cancer and AIDS research, Pert provides us with an intellectual adventure of the highest order. In Molecules of Emotion, Pert gives us more than a story of scientific discovery. Woven into her clear explanations of the science underlying her work is the remarkable story of how, faced with personal and professional obstacles, she has grown as a woman and a mother and how her personal and spiritual development has made possible her remarkable scientific career. Pert writes in Chapter 13, "Truth": " The tendency to ignore our emotions is "oldthink", a remnant of the still-reigning paradigm that keeps us focused on the material level of health, the physicality of it. But the emotions are a key element in self-care because they allow us to enter into the bodymind's conversation. By getting in touch with our emotions, both by listening to them and by directing them through the psychosomatic network, we gain access to the healing wisdom that is everyone's natural biological right." "And how do we do this? First by acknowledging and claiming all our feelings, not just the so-called positive ones. We need - Anger... to define boundaries
- Grief... to deal with our losses
- Fear... to protect ourselves from danger
These emotional experiences are not negative in themselves; in fact, they are vital for our survival. It's only when these feelings are denied, so that they cannot be... processed through the system and released, that the situation becomes toxic…And the more we deny them, the greater the ultimate toxicity, which often takes the form of an explosive release of pent-up emotion. That's when emotion can be damaging to both oneself and others, because its expression becomes overwhelming, sometimes violent." "So my advice is to express all of your feelings, regardless of whether you think they are acceptable, and then let them go…When your emotions are moving and your chemicals flowing, you will experience feelings of freedom, hopefulness, joy, because you are in a healthy, "whole" state." "The goal is to keep information flowing, feedback systems working, and natural balance maintained, all of which we can help to achieve by a conscious decision to enter into the bodymind's conversation." Pert goes on to explain the eight ways to use awareness and intention... in order to prevent disease and maximize health: - Becoming conscious.
- Accessing the Psychosomatic Network
- psychological counseling
- hypnotherapy
- touch therapy
- personal-growth seminars
- meditation
- and prayer
- Tapping into your dreams.
- Getting in touch with your body
- Reducing stress
- Exercise
- Eating wisely
- Avoiding substance abuse
Elnora Van Winkle's toxic energy mind findings...
Redirecting Self Therapy (RST) is an alternate therapy based on the principle that mental symptoms are a "detox crisis" that can be discharged by releasing suppressed anger from early trauma. This profound discovery by neuroscientist Van Winkle is one of the most important discoveries made in mental science. This cure is based on the discoveries of many others before her. Ellie discovered one of the last pieces of the puzzle - in finding a cure for all forms of mental/emotional disorders. This is a far-reaching claim, and, of course, traditional mental health therapists rejected it. Traditional psychiatry is slow to recognize new advances in mental science. Ellie did her best to promote her discovery. However, she did not have a million dollars and a research grant. Releasing anger is not exactly a new concept, but Ellie refined the process to a degree not previously understood. However, many other modalities recognize anger as being a substantial underlying toxic energy source, so Van Winkle's findings are more and more acceptable. Ellie Van Winkle passed away in August of 2001, at the age of 73. This has left her therapy with no one to promote/defend/explain her discovery. I use RST as one component of Toxic Energy Healing Therapy focusing on the toxic energy mind.
Chakras are centers of energy, located on the midline of the body. There are seven of them, and they govern our physical, mental/emotional and spiritual energies. The exact names, the exact number and the exact bodily location of the chakras varies between "gurus". I've taken a pretty traditional approach to all these aspects.Mind you, I'm always open to be corrected... (continued)
Toxic Energy Mind Key Resource
| | NOTE: Master Stephen Co, in his book "Your Hands Can Heal You" uses an 11 Chakra model. YOUR HANDS CAN HEAL YOU is the first physician-authored book to demystify and simplify the ancient esoteric "root knowledge" that is the basis not only for "PRANIC HEALING" but also other more widely known forms of energy medicine such as Chinese chi kung, Japanese reiki and even Christian laying-on of hands. This root knowledge was used traditionally only by trained masters to heal others, but this book makes the information available to contemporary medical consumers to help themselves. YOUR HANDS CAN HEAL YOU offers a revolutionary step-by-step program of exercises, practices, and techniques that enable anyone -- regardless of age, disposition, attitude or aptitude -- to quickly and effectively call upon his or her body's energy for optimal health and healing. This includes speeding recovery from a wide range of physical, psychological and emotional ailments. |
The three chakras located on the lower part of the body are considered instinctual, the highest three intellectual. The mid-level chakra (Heart Chakra) is the transition between instinct and intellect.Ideally, our instincts would work together with our feelings and thinking. However, this is usually not the case. Some chakras are not open enough (being under-active), and to compensate, other chakras are over-active. Both under-active and over-active are contributors to a toxic energy mind.
