I?m a member of MomsRising.org, and I am counting on you to guarantee easily accessible, affordable, comprehensive healthcare coverage for all children. Please start doing this now by reauthorizing State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) with at least $50 billion to expand and improve coverage to all children and pregnant women, improve benefits to provide all medically necessary services, and simplify enrollment with mechanisms such as automatic enrollment (AKA "Express Lane Eligibility") to ensure that eligible kids get enrolled and stay enrolled.

Right now 9 million children--one in 9--don't have any healthcare coverage at all, and millions more are under-insured.  The nation is counting on you to take action.

Children are paying a high price for this lack of coverage.  Uninsured children live sicker and die sooner than their insured counterparts.  In a comparison of all nations, we rank near the bottom of all industrialized nations in infant mortality (24th), and low birthweight (22nd) rates. Covering more children is critical.

America can and should do better: No child should go uninsured in the richest nation in the world.  Please work to cover all children now.
