Lebanon Baseball Standouts

Lebanon Baseball

I wanted to get caught up on some fine performance turned in this spring by the Warrior baseball squad. In the season's opening week of play, senior Mitchell Hodges picked up the Warriors' first win of the season by pitching 4-2/3 innings of scoreless one-hit baseball along with 4 strikeouts in a come-from-behind 10-8 win over St. Xavier. In week two, junior Cameron Healy picked up his first varsity win on the mound in his first career varsity start. Cameron threw four innings of two-hit baseball with four strikeouts in defeating Wayne 4-2 in the Cincinnati Reds-Skyline Showcase. He was voted MVP of the game and will receive a trophy bat at the Cincinnati Reds game on May 5. In week three, junior Ben Williams hurled a seven inning complete game two-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks in the Warriors win over Little Miami 3-2. In the week four Breast Cancer Awareness game, junior Grant Keffaber threw six scoreless no-hit innings with 11 strikeouts. He unselfishly handed the ball off to senior Kyle O'Connor who closed the door on the one-hitter picking up the save in the Warriors 2-0 win over ECC leader Loveland. Kyle's Mother Kathleen threw out the ceremonial first pitch as she is currently completing her treatments for breast cancer. Week five saw Mitchell throw a complete game, scattering seven hits with 10 strikeouts in the 7-1 win over Walnut Hills. Amazingly, of his 110 pitches, he only threw 34 balls (76 strikes).

Jay Christian

Senior, Loveland Lacrosse

Jay, a senior midfielder, scored three goals in a 13-11 win over Sycamore and had three goals and three assists in a victory over Walnut Hills.

Ainsley McCosh

Junior, Turpin Lacrosse

Ainsley had a huge week for the Lady Spartans, as they tackled two top-10 opponents in the state. Ainsley had four goals, nine draw controls, and two caused turnovers in those games!

Donmiel Rogers

Junior, Winton Woods Track

Donmiel won the 100 meters, was second in the long jump, and was a member of the winning 4x100 relay this past weekend at the Edwin C Moses Relays!
