HOBART | Local residents may find new ways to accomplish their goals during a free life coaching presentation at The Grind Coffeehouse on Saturday.
Life coaching is a fairly new field that helps individuals accomplish goals and fix other problems, life coach Myrna Sarowitz said.
Sarowitz, of Schererville, said life coaching isn't very common in Northwest Indiana, which is something she hopes the event will change.
"My major goal is to educate the public on the powerful tool life coaching is," Sarowitz said.
Sarowitz has been a life coach for about six years, and said she and two other life coaches will be available during the event.
She said audience members will hear a presentation on life coaching and some will get a chance to receive a free 12-minute sample session from the life coaches.
She said even though 12 minutes doesn't seem to be a long time to identify a problem and find a possible solution, "a good coach should be able to do it in 12 minutes."
She said after the sessions there also will be a discussion on the program with the audience members.
Sarowitz said everyone at the event will receive a free 30-minute session from one of the life coaches.

The life coaching event will be 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at The Grind Coffeehouse, 325 Main St. in Hobart.
The event is free, but participants must register to attend. For more information or to register, call Myrna Sarowitz at (219) 322-6189.
