What Will Happen at Different Water Temperatures?55º F or warmer, the race swims will be held as planned. 52º to 54º F range, the Olympic Triathlon swim will be shortened to a 750 meter swim, and the Sprint swim will stay at 500 meters. Under 52º F, all swims will be cancelled and we will run all races as either a Long or Short Course Duathlon. If you registered for the Olympic Tri, you will be transferred to the Long Course Dua, and if you registered for the Sprint Tria, you will be transferred to the Short Course Dua.
Current Water ConditionsCurrently, the water at Redfish is in the 52 to 55 degree range, with several very warm days ahead, so we are planning on holding the triathlons as planned!
Wetsuit Cleaning InfoAll wetsuits will need to be cleaned prior to being used in Redfish Lake. Athletes need to bring their wetsuits with them to packet pick-up where there will be a cleaning proces that will involve 3 dunks; one with a wetsuit specific shampoo and conditioner and two for rinsing. This cleaning will also be enforced for day-of-race sign-ups. This is to protect Redfish Lake from the introduction of any foreign organisms.
Your wetsuit will be in better condition after the wash than before!
