Human Trafficking is Modern Day Slavery
"But this is a people robbed and plundered; all of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prison houses; they are for prey and no one delivers; for plunder and no one says, 'Restore!'"

"As unimaginable as it seems, slavery and bondage still persist in the early 21st century. Millions of people around the world still suffer in silence in slave-like situations of forced labor and commercial sexual exploitation from which they cannot free themselves. Trafficking in persons is one of the greatest human rights challenges of our time." (US State Department, Trafficking in Persons Report, 2003)
The UN estimates conservatively that over 700,000 people per year are trafficked globally and the revenue generated is close to (US) $10 billion. Trafficking in persons involves the recruitment, transportation or harboring of victims for sexual or other forms of exploitation, either across or within borders. (Department of Justice, Canada, 2005)

Our vision is for Christians to organize one day in the workplace and one Sunday to focus prayer and intercession on behalf of people who are trafficked, enslaved and exploited.
"Clothe yourselves with the full armour of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens." -Ephesians 6:11-12
Petition God to change things, to free the captives, to end these evils, and to guide and empower Christians to serve, to prevent, to rescue and to restore.

Prayer and awareness-raising materials are available on the internet to facilitate local implementation of prayer and fasting events for use in both corps/churches and workplace settings.
