UK for Ukraine

Hi everyone, I'm Ali Stallard (nee Lisak) and like you, I'm watching the news and can't believe what is happening in Ukraine - in Europe - in 2022. We are seeing the very worst of humanity, with innocent people being killed and terrified mothers fleeing their homes and their country with their bewildered children, desperate to get to a safe place. We are also seeing the very best of humanity, with those incredibly brave Ukraines uniting and doing everything they can to defend their homeland and with people in neighbouring countries welcoming refugees with open arms.

 

I have family in South East Poland, who live in a village called Krzeczow,  around 90 miles from the Ukraine border. My cousin, Kasia is head teacher of the local school and the villagers there are rallying to support those desperate people who are arriving with very little more than a bag of clothes. They are co-ordinating everything from food, clothes and transport to houses and are already  hosting 4 Ukraine families.  By providing donations, we have and can continue to quickly and directly help them with this effort.  

 

 

We can look at the images on the television and the internet and feel helpless, but our donations, our small acts of kindness will let the Ukraine people know that we are with them.
