Special note regarding payments: Please visit the "giving" page at dpchurch.org to make payments online for Children's events. If you wish you pay by check you can drop a check by the church office at anytime. Please make sure to note that it is for camp and notify Pastor Emily that you turned it in or made a payment.

Decatur Presbyterian Church is excited to offer at home kits again this year as well as an in-person camp. Children rising 3 year olds through rising 6th grade are invited to participate in our summer bible school camp, Compassion Camp:Be Loved. Be Kind. Be You. Each morning, children will gathered spaced out in the sanctuary for opening worship. Following this time, small groups will move out to separate spaces to dive into Bible stories, create crafts, and play (children who elect for the at-home option can attend a brief virtual small group led by 2 adults).

Children who select in-person camp will be assigned to small groups of no more than 14 campers and 2 adults. Groups will be outside, weather pending. If the weather does not allow us to meet outside at anytime, groups will be pre-assigned to rooms within the church. Only 1 group will be in a classroom.

You can also select on the registration for your child to receive a kit but not attend in person. You will be provided instructions and materials to explore the Bible stories and activities at home. You can also pick up a kit if you cannot attend the week of camp and work through it at your own pace.

Cost should not be a reason for your child to miss camp. We have a limited number of scholarships available for families who need them. Reach out to Pastor Emily as soon as possible to find out more.

Registration will end on May 29th and a decision will be made whether or not we have enough volunteers to safely have camp in-person. If we cannot safely have camp in-person, your child will still receive a kit and you will be offered a $15 refund (the difference between kit only & camp).

We hope your children enjoy exploring God's word and God's love either with us in-person, virtually, or with your family. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Emily Wilmesherr, ewilmesherr@dpchurch.org

All plans are subject to change based on environmental and health factors, we certainly will follow all the local or state regulations, as well as CDC recommendations. You will be notified as soon as possible of any changes. Details about what to expect for the in-person camp will come out in May. Regardless of the guidelines, children will receive an at-home kit and be given the opportunity to connect virtually during camp week.
