Great gadget! It would be better if it produces a sound notification when new e-mail is received. I'm not a programmer, but it seems doable. http://desktop.google.com/dev/releasenotes-2006-14-11.html#audio

works great, but I would like the option to show more of the email text body. As I can't check my gmails at work

Love the gadget but like people are saying... you can only see the first line or so of your email. Why not have an option to view the full text in that slide out window? Also an option to delete or mark something as read would be nice too!

I have just added the gadget and looks good, but I would add an option to see the icon with a different colour when inbox is empty (grey) or when it has new mail (colour). Cheers

This gadget is great. When you are searching for a sidebar gadget with realtime overview of your unread e-mails in gmail/google-mail with sound notification for new e-mail(s), (like I was), then this gadget works! The unread mail list in this gadget updates faster then the default google e-mail gadget or the Web Clips (rss) gadget and it has Google Apps mail support.

Error whe used with 2 accounts, it can't access gmail : Google Error Not Found The requested URL /mail/help/signed_out.html?shva=1 was not found on this server.

love that it collects messages from all my accounts! I'd love it even more if it had a quick way to clear the current list (or am I just missing something?)

Google Apps Email link within the new email message does not work, cannot find URL. This is the message that pops up when a new email arrives, if you click on the message to take you google then is fails with URL not found. This is only a problem for emails associated with Google Apps accounts, when I receive an email from a standard gmail account (not google apps) then then link work fine.

Great tool! Been using it for a while. But today I updated to google Desktop new version, and the Gadget doest not let me resize it in expanded view.

Gmail notifier for firefox when clicked on logs me into my Gmail-hosted account, but this one just brings me to the login page...I'd rather it logged me in.

Why does it ask for my username and password each time I start the computer?

One of the other gadgets has the ability to REMOVE mails from the list without going to the web interface. I wish that were part of this. Additionally, it allows you to filter out certain emails. I get a lot of email that I like to see at off-hours and keep an eye on important email, so the other one works for that as well. However, the other one doesn't work for "hosted domains". Clicking on it brings you to generic Gmail rather than my company domain at google. Finally, some additional (non-gadget) applications have a nice little popup window that tells you you've got mail. i don't know if that is possible, but it sure would be nice, since I'm on a little laptop and tend to keep the side-bar hidden unless I hit shift twice. However, it satisfies my needs better than the others, so I'm sticking with it.

Love this gadget. It's great. The only improvement I would ask is to be able to have the option to read the entire email or conversation as it only displays the first part.
