| D’Angel Boycotts Sumfest

Dancehall artiste, D’Angel chose not to perform at this year’s Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest Xplosion show because she felt she was being poorly treated by the show’s promoters.

DAngel1.jpg“I feel that my career has reached a certain level where I should be treated seriously as a solo act, and people have to realize that I don’t perform with Beenie Man all the time. I have to develop my own act, Beenie used to call me on because I was pregnant and could not do an extended set, but I can perform solo now,” she told One876Entertainment.com.

“The Sumfest promoters wanted me to perform in an early slot but I feel that I have reached a certain stage in my career where that would seem like a major step back, so I have decided to withdraw from this year’s Sumfest show,” reasoned the deejay who has scored the top ten hits Babyfather featuring Vybz Kartel and Downtown Girl.

The show was held last night in Montego Bay.
