    The Situation / The Situation

British-American Panorama

Film description: The military operation in Iraq now influences the entire United States: politicians, journalists, documentarists, as well as voters. The Situation is the first American artistic expression of the war in Iraq through a feature-length film. When a group of American soldiers throw the body of an Iraqi boy off a bridge in Samara, a chain of events is triggered that reveal the deep animosity of the local inhabitants. Mutual disagreements amongst Iraqis lead to further violence between radicals and corrupted police. The film combines the elements of thriller, romance and war films, depicting the story of a journalist who decides to write a story based on an attempt on the life of an Iraqi leader she admired, despite her intimate relationship with a CIA agent.
