Illinois State Rifle Association Announces Its People of the Year Awards

CHICAGO, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following was released
today by the Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA):

The ISRA is pleased to announce the selection of its People of the Year
Awards. Recognition is bestowed upon individuals who have made a notable
contribution under the criteria for which each award is given.

The ISRA "Defenders of Freedom" award goes to Tom and Dennis Reese, of
Springfield Armory, Inc. The Reese brothers are being recognized for taking
a leadership role in fighting a proposed "assault weapons" ban introduced
in the Illinois General Assembly last year.

The ISRA "Legislator of the Year" award goes to retiring Illinois State
Senator, Todd Sieben. Senator Sieben is being recognized for his
long-standing support of the law-abiding citizen's right to own the
firearms of their choosing.

The ISRA "Volunteer of the Year" award is going to a pair of
individuals this year. Don Bekeleski is being recognized for his tireless
fund raising efforts on behalf of the ISRA Legislative Committee. John Webb
will receive his award in recognition of his many years of service to the
ISRA's shooting sports programs and legislative action efforts.

Carl Kuhn will be receiving a special award in recognition of his more
than 25 years of service on the ISRA Board of Directors and committees.
Judge Kuhn is retiring from active participation in the ISRA leadership and
will be sorely missed.

The ISRA "2007 Gun Grabber of the Year" award goes to Cook County
Commissioner Larry Suffredin. Commissioner Suffredin is being granted this
dubious distinction in light of his on-going efforts to run lawful firearm
retailers out of business as well as banning and confiscating all firearms
owned by law-abiding Cook County citizens.

Recognition of these individuals will take place formally during the
ISRA's Annual Luncheon which is scheduled for Noon on Saturday, 26 January
2008. The event will be held at the Diplomat West Banquet Hall, Elmhurst,
IL.

MEMBERS OF THE MEDIA: If you wish to cover this event, please contact
the ISRA business office at (815) 635-3198 to receive further details.

The ISRA is the state's leading advocate of safe, lawful, and
responsible firearms ownership. Since 1903, the ISRA has represented the
interests of over 1.5 million law-abiding Illinois firearm owners.
