In June 1972, Hurricane Agnes swept north along the eastern US seaboard, before turning inland. There was wide destruction in the states of NJ, PA and NY. It soon became apparent that Erie Lackawanna and Lehigh Valley needed to move thousands of cars on a detour route. They contracted with CN and CP to do just that, making for prime photography in southern Ontario. Here is a CPR detour of E-L train PO-98 with SD45's 3661-3652, exiting from beneath the High Level bridge and straining to move his 108 loaded cars toward Toronto.
