Traveler Behavior and Values 2006
TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board (TRR), No. 1985 contains 29 papers on the subject of traveler behavior and values. Papers in this issue of the TRR examine transport modeling, mode choice decisions, route choice, multimodal travel behavior, trip generation, travel trends of the aging workforce, car ownership, shopping activities, daily activity schedules, voluntary travel behavior change, incidental trips, life-cycle cost for pavements considering route choice, large-scale microsimulations, travel time budgets and distributions, transfers in multimodal trips, utilitarian trips within a neotraditional neighborhood, and travel time reliability in route choice. This TRR also examines a genetic algorithm for within-household interactions in mode choice models, home-activity approach to multimodal travel choice modeling, diversion due to ramp meters, stops in commute journeys and incremental travel, and intrahousehold car-type choice. In addition, this issue explores traffic assignment based on travel time reliability; learning and behavior in route and departure time choice; underpinnings of behavioral travel demand; value of travel time and demand elasticity; transportation expenditures and ability to pay; and cognitive mapping, travel behavior, and access to opportunity.
Individual TRRs, which are published on an irregular basis throughout the year, consist of collections of peer-reviewed papers on specific transportation subject areas and modes. TRB's TRR Online service allows all visitors to identify papers of interest and review abstracts of those papers. Access to the full papers is available to service subscribers and employees of TRB sponsors. Papers may also be purchased on an individual basis.
Printed copies of TRR Journals may also be purchased on an annual subscription basis. Each year, TRB publishes approximately 45 volumes of the TRR Journal, containing more than 800 papers grouped by subject.
