LOWELL — A man sustained minor injuries after being pinned by a collapsed wall in a railcar at a distribution company at 92 Bolt St., yesterday about 10:15 a.m., police said.

The man, whose identity was not released by police, was taken to Lowell General Hospital after he was extricated and complained of pain in his ribcage, Lowell police Sgt. Jack Sheehan said.

The man was an employee in his 40s from Lowell, working at the distribution company, A&D Distributors Inc. He was unpacking a railcar of bags of flour from a set of pallets, when the dividing wall in the railcar collapsed, pinning him inside for a time, police said.

One of the employees was there when the accident happened and was able to help get the co-worker free, Sheehan said.

Police reported the accident to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, which was to investigate yesterday.
