LSH: AOL Chat Report for 7/02/98: McCraw & Moy

of the format of these writeups was derived from his hard work.

DISCLAIMER: I can't guarantee the reliability of this report. Essentially,
the Legion chats involve about twenty-five fans shouting repeated questions
to the creators. The creators are sometimes unable to answer questions
thoroughly or clarify their responses. As a result, misinterpretations may
occur on my part.

SPOILERS: Information that spoils current or upcoming issues is found
toward the end of this report. There's no spoiler space to separate such
info from the more general comments.

Tom's deadline for recoloring CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS is in early September.

Jeff's favorite villain to draw so far has been Emerald Violet.

Jeff's brother Phil has an idea for an Elseworlds Legion.

There are no plans for the return of Jamm, the Legion's contribution to
1993's BLOODLINES crossover. :)

Keith Giffen's pencilling for LSH #1,000,000 is in his current style, but a
little cleaner, according to Tom.

Tom noted that Sensor can affect all of one's senses, not just sight.

The Legion TPB will cover the books from the Zero issues to the end of the
White Triangle story. Tom said the only material to be omitted would be
ads and letter columns. Jeff hasn't been asked yet to draw the cover, and
he thinks LSH cover artist Alan Davis would be chosen anyway.

Tom credits the TPB's even existing to Collected Editions editor Jim
Spivey, who really pushed for the book. There may not be demand for a
Legion TPB, Jeff said, but its purpose would be to hook new readers. If
this collection sells well, then Tom and Spivey have plans for two
additional volumes, probably one a year.

In L* #65, we'll see Brainy's reactions to the conclusion of the Dark
Circle story. Tom offered that Brainy will be shaken up.

When asked if Laurel would revert to her normal appearance, Tom referred
the fan to next week's L* #64.

Thunder makes her 30th Century story debut in LSH #110 after appearing in
POWER OF SHAZAM. Tom praised new penciller Scott Kolins' pencils, saying
"everyone should be happy." Thunder's story, and the millionth issues, are
the only time-related adventures currently planned.

When fans brought up the subject of reintroducing Wildfire, Jeff replied,
"Ask Tom about Dawny and Wildfire." So Tom said, "one of them may be seen
some time next year."

I believe that would be 24 issues, including two annuals. At a guess, I'd
say (hope) they intend to split that into at least two parts. (At least,
that's how I'm doing it...)

Yea... ? maybe in this elseworlds, the universe never got rebooted and
all.... naaa it's to much to ask!

Oh no... just a little cleaner? I had hoped it wouldn't be the evil
Giffen this time.

As Brian mentioned and as has been discussed on the mailing list, this
is a very unweildy book akin to the size of the Cerebus phonebooks. I
can't imagine a TPB of this size selling.

Could someone with AOL please clear this up? Our best guess is that it
stops right after Luorno was attacked in "Girl's Night Out."

Tom apparently doesn't lurk around here :)

<with regard to the first postboot TPB:>

My personal volume one (used my own two hands and a needle, I did!) ends
with the "Girl's Night Out" issue. Lu is attacked in the next issue,
which will begin my /White Triangle/ book, taking us up through the L*
Year One issue. I think that's probably how the official DC ones will
run, too.
