With those rules what kind of "discussion" are you expecting? Seems you've made us thought eunuchs, much like the Akta Universiti dan Kolej Universiti aims to do to local university students. Why allow "discussion" in the first place? Me, I'm just tired of reading government propaganda that are massively flooding the local papers the last few days. The GE is nigh and the promises and sweet talk floodgate opens, as if suddenly we're all equal and nobody is being favoured anymore.

I hope all malaysian can vote for a check and balance type of government. If we continue with BN one day our children will die in this land we call home now. Until now I dont understand why the people are so reluctant to vote. BN just need 112 seat to form government. Even if it does not get 2/3 of the parliament seat. Malaysian cant even do simple maths and always let monkey politican threaten year after year. 2/3 is needed to change the constitution but 1/2 is needed to form the government so why are we always voting for something so rotten?

Can someone tell me if stability will continue under BN? The way i see it we will die a slow death under BN. The only way out is to have check and balance not like Singapore but like Australia. I pray for you Malaysia that its people will wise up. The last I read Singapore is charging foreigner 9.5k sgd tuition fee a year in NUS and NTU. Will the average Malaysian still be able to send their kids to a better university next door with the exchange rate at 2.3? Time will tell how far and miserable our education system has become thanks to BN and its never ending policy. What good is it to have more chinese school when the main issue is inequality of Malaysian? BN has become too racist and not progressive because it has no serious competitor. How can we aspire to be a strong country? Dont be suprise after 2010 Singapore with a population of 4.5 million will have an nominal gdp economy as big or bigger than Malaysia. Then we are really loose face. Small island but big economic foot print. What can we expect from our children who graduate from UM in the future? UM continue loss of reputation and slide is a good example of how the future Malaysian will become if we continue under this path. The enemy is out there and we are competing with the world not among ourselves.

I would like to post a question to everyone reading this blog will you want to become an opposition with no cars, no datukship, no money, constant harrassment in the parliament from the ruling govt representative and no access to media? Why are there such people who wants to be opposition if there are no benefit?

I vote to continue to cheer this group of fighters who may be jailed anytime in Malaysia who in my believe are cleaner than any of the minister that we have now. So Malaysian if you ask yourself this then I am sure u will be as puzzled as i am with this paradox. We can call it the Malaysian paradox since it is left unsolved for 50 years now

Thumbs up Re: Malaysian 12th Election discussion thread.

What Perommyvi say is totally right. I fully agree with his statement. Personally if we as the citizen of Malaysia don't stand up and vote, nobody will. We might think that a single vote from us doesn't have much impact. Imagine if thousands or even millions of people think this way, we might end up losing so much votes.

We are smart and matured enough to think for ourself and our future. Before you vote, please read the following:

You want to vote for BN? Well, think again

Personally I too am reluctant to vote. That might stems from lack of personal knowledge in the arena of politics but by all means we should vote and perhaps it might make a difference someday soon.

It's a good thing my voting station is just down my road.Heh.

my 2 cents.YB in my area,DUN Pantai Merdeka did nothing to bring so called kemajuan to my kampung.when he won last time in 2004,he gave nothing to us.he was an exco.now when election is just around the corner, suddenly a Projek Rakyat announced! a new mosque will be built.however ppl in my kampung is now feeling frustrated.ya la,when the election is coming, haa then the project also coming.aiyoo.survey conducted by BN said PAS will win.btw,im not voting for BN (DUN Pantai Merdeka) because if any side win, there is no benefit for us..lets show what we can do so that powerful ppl will remember, without us,voters, they are nothing..

lets vote for our country

ps;my website (see siggy),has lots of images related to this coming Pilihanraya~ enjoy

I've been living under the ruling of BN for the past 20 years. Some of us might be even longer. However, we share one thing in common under their ruling, we are not united, we are not equal we are not advancing.

BN brings in the technology without ANY expertise to support us.

Our internet for example, how long has it been so horrifying and we are still facing the same old problems and their doing the same old blunt job?

Next.
After we get one big project, all they do is pause. No more. Just that. Then they compare us with ADVANCE COUNTRY like Singapore,Taiwan etc, about heir technology but when we speak of their services they talk back to us that we should be lucky we have it(the technology) compared with "North pole".

20 years living in the Klang Veally, I don't really see how much changes BN really brings to us. Not to say I'm negitive, I'm realistic.

The road signboards for one, are so broken that they lead us eventually to their toll plaza more often then where we are supose to go. They put sign boards at places that shouldn't be placed. How many of these sign boards did everyone notice? Some sign boards are covered by trees. Signboards are parked in the middle of the fork interchange. how are we supose to know weather we are supose to turn left or right when the sign board is in the middle with so compact information and its connected to the mainroad?
Signboards that paused half way. Then re-apper when you nearly reach their toll plaza, they ask u to make a U-turn.

Next
The drain in K.V. (klang veally) has bee so BAD since day 1. Until today, its still the same stinky thing. What has BN done to it for a change?
IF you travel and went over to macao or HK, you'll notice the VERY GRAND diffrence of cleanliness.

Next
I don't want to talk about equality, its a very sensitive issue.
The reason it's sensitive is because what they (BN) claim never is true.

Next
Malaysia has become very boring over the years. Not enough Buying power etc etc etc. What has the goverment really do? Suporting monopoly business?
Made all the great minds run away to other country and settle down? Scaring all forign investor's becouse of our "policy"? mmm?

Next
We have very little entertainment centre's to go to. what has the goverment done about it? Nothing, just give less license for entertainment and overcharge for the license. And they want us all to sleep at 9pm? WoW. How boring yet, they tell us to support tourism. Has anyone ever wants to go to a country with so limited entertainment??? gosh.

Next
Our education level is so bad it's dropping. what has the education minister done? Well, he can always say "at least we have schools compared to north pole".

There is more I just don't have to mention it out. I've live under BN's govern for all my life. They have proven to me that they never kept their words.
They didnt' decieve us, but they just don't take the bigger steps to give us what we needed. They just do what we needed from them last minute. right before the election.

As a countryment, I vote for the opposision. BN has failed me, Not once but entirely. They did nothing for us except what we needed from them 5 years ago when we vote for them. If you think I'm lying well, you've live here long enough to judge.

The way I see it, the opposition parties will have the same problems if they rule our country. This is how our culture works regardless of whether they're BN or not. This is just my 2 cents.

PKR, PAS, DAP should offer all the Sabah & Sarawak MPs to jump ship to Barisan Rakyat.

Sabah have 25 seats, Sarawak 28 with that Barisan Rakyat will have more than enough to form Malaysian government.

Offer them one thing that BN will never offer

1. Deputy prime minister post
2. Increase oil royalty from 5% to 10%
3. Senior federal minister posts
4. Sabahan & Sarawakian to head federal government departments in Sabah and Sarawak

Offer them now and BN will be the opposition in Malaysia.

Now that some of the oppostions are sitting in the control panel, lets see how they perform. Being in the passenger sit and criticising is easy. Lets see how they drive this sensitive and fragile machine called Malaysia, with it's legacy of Colonialism, a massive inter-racial, inter-cultural and inter-religious headache.
Can they please everyone about everything?....

As some people have already mentioned, we shall have a chance to observe how the opposition rules the states that it had won, namely kedah and perak. We know that BN had made mistakes and scandals since the 2004 elections, but it was ironic to see a whole state change their political stance so dramatically. Would a number of scandals and mistakes enable a person to change their preference from a party who had 50 years of ruling experience, to a party(s) that has been surviving only half of that time?
I personally believe that Badawi has not brought enough change to Malaysia in terms of economic growth and political stability. Becoming a strong and robust nation-state in the ASEAN region first will only enable us to become a developed nation later on.
It is sad to see shocking loses such as losing 2/3's majority in parliament, and several states with it. However UMNO must learn from its mistakes and must tread lightly until the next general election.
