www.davidsterry.com/Tweetscan - The Twitter Search

Interested in finding out about the latest meme passing through the Twittersphere? The popularity of Twitter although not universal, has created a virtual empire of short messages and each day that empire grows and multiplies by 140 words. To search for particular tweets concentrating on a certain theme or word we have TweetScan. This Twitter search engine seeks out various specified terms input by you, and returns the results in an email. Each Tweet delivered comes with a correspondence link so that you can reply for any reason. You may also set up an RSS feed for keywords or users and you can scan up to five phrases for daily or weekly delivery; disabling the alerts is possible whenever you desire. TweetScan can be added to your Firefox search bar.

  In their own words

“Tweet Scan is a real-time search engine for Twitter posts.
Beyond that, TweetScan can do your searches automatically and email them to you”

Why it might be a killer

TweetScan is an interesting way to discover what’s going on in the world of Twitter. You could use it to find certain patterns or themes, to find out what a particular user is up to, or simply to search for multi-user replies. Works like search for your email, and that is definitely a must have feature.

  Some questions

How useful is this to Twitterers? Twitter itself is a niche app that only certain technically inclined types tend to use, thus TweetScan is going to have a limited audience. How far back can you go? Does it have staying power?
