Volunteer Role Descriptions
CORNER GUARDS are assigned to a designated area on the route to assist with directing participants while keeping them safe. You will be an enthusiastic cheerleader and a clear communicator.

PARKING ATTENDANTS are assigned to a designated lot to assist with the flow of traffic. You will be directing participants where to park, and assisting them when lots are full or closed.

REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP ASSISTANTS are assigned to a designated position for the duration of the shift; either assisting riders who are registering or picking up their packets, or grabbing correct sizes of shirts. You will help find answers to the many questions the participants will have.

ROUTE CAPTAINS are assigned to a designated area on the route and are responsible for making sure that area is properly marked and signed before the event starts. You will be monitoring the route carefully on event day, ensuring that corner guards are in place and attending to any situations that arise quickly and calmly.

ROUTE LEADS/SWEEPERS are assigned to a specific route and either lead the first rider of that route or follow the last rider. You will be monitoring the routes along the way, assisting riders as needed.

REST STOPS are assigned to a designated rest stop along the route and are responsible for distributing food and water for the riders. You will be placed a variety of other volunteers to ensure the success of the rest stop. Duties may include set up, take down, serving, restocking, and directing riders in and out of the rest stop.

OTHER positions may be available. If you don’t see what you wanted to help out with, please let us know!
