The meaning of 18 treasures are something a person can treasure for life, regardless of monetary worth. Traditionally, the Debut treasures are special gifts given to a Filipino girl on her 18th birthday. These gifts are a modern addition to an old ritual that celebrates the transition of a girl to womanhood.
